Movie Review : Khatta Meetha

Noise – The one word review for the movie. I think this is the question I kept asking throghout the movie that why every character is shouting the lines, not reading them. To give a funny touch, shouting once or twice is accetable but not through entire movie. Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar’s weakest movie seen so far.

The problem is not with the story. Not many comedy movies have a story. David Dhavan masters movies with no stoires and a bag of comic scenes. But you need to keep the audience glued to the screen. Problem with Khatta Meetha is it has its share of funny moments but not enough to make you sit for 2 and half hours. The intentions of the writer/director were good to make a movie with a message also but in the end some results are expected like every where. The movie tries to bring the problem of corruption in road construction contracts but the writing is not convincing.

Akshay Kumar performs his part well but he can’t carry a movie on his shoulder with poor writing. Specially in the second half, the movie seem like streteched beyond  a point and story going no where. No doubt that few of the scenes are hilarious but the package is not complete. So, go and watch the movie if have nothing else to do or want to watch a movie without any expectations.
